Clinic Gets a Face Lift

You might notice if you are driving by that the clinic has a new appearance. We are in the process of giving the clinic a bit of a 'new image' to reflect the warm friendly environment that our pets and their owners experience at Stoke Vets. Stage one features the new colourful pictures and logo which went up at the start of July. We have now completed a whole new front of house area also, to improve the 'feel' in the waiting room and eventually we will have more signage going up on the exterior of the building. We are really excited about the new look and have been flooded with favourable comments so far! So, drop by, take a look and let us know what you think.

New Vets Join the Team!

We have been extremely lucky to secure the services of Kim Vickerman until October 2010 at Stoke Vets. Many of you may have met Kim already as she has been working for us since Christmas in a locum capacity. Kim has 10 years experience in NZ, Australia and the UK and brings us particularly valuable skills in 'small furry' medicine and surgery (Rabbits, Guinea Pigs etc) having worked with these extensively in the UK. Kim is an incredibly diligent and thoughtful vet who is a real asset to our team and we are pleased to welcome her on board. We believe her addition to the the team will bring us new skills and levels of care, particularly for the increasingly popular 'pocket pets' we see in daily practice. Kim will continue to be a regular face at the clinic after October 2010 as a locum vet .

Matt: Matt Evans

From October 2010 onwards we are pleased to announce the arrival of a new veterinarian Matthew Evans. Matt finished his Veterinary Science degree at Massey University in 1999 and has spent the last 7 years working in Guernsey in the UK. Matt brings a wealth of small animal experience to the clinic and has considerable experience in behavioural problems as well! He is married with 3 young children and has chosen to return to NZ for the fanastic life style that Nelson has to offer. We are looking forward to adding Matt to our team and to the new skills and experience he will bring to the practice.

Meg: Meg Irvine

Megan has also returned to the practice 2 days a week (Thursday and Friday) since June 2010 after 8 months of maternity leave. It is fantastic to have Meg back at the practice with her enthusiasm and passion for Feline Medicine.

Discount for payment on the day

Due to its popularity we are have made our discount for payment of accounts for surgery and dental procedures on the day a permanent feature. All accounts paid IN FULL at the time of discharge for surgical and dental procedures including routine desexing will be eligible for a 5% discount. This will not be applicable to services which are already discounted. Routine consultations, vaccinations etc. continue to be payment in full on the day.
